here were a lot of sick rumors about Samsung Galaxy S2 getting Ice Cream Sandwich update. A week ago, Samsung Philippines tweeted that the device was getting ICS update on March 10, but a few hours later Samsung came forward with an official statement that Samsung Philippines made a mistake by posting the March 10 release date for Android 4.0 ICS for Galaxy S2.
Samsung Galaxy S2 owners might be feeling bad that one of the most powerful smartphone today is running the old version of Android. Today Samsung has announced something interesting on their official blog that will surely put a smile on all Galaxy S2 owners’ faces.
Those who have been waiting for the ICS update for a long time can now breathe a sigh of relief as it’s finally here. The company is all set to roll out the first official ICS update for Galaxy S2 I9100 device. South Korea, Poland, Hungary and Sweden are one of the first few countries who will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich update, and it’ll gradually be rolled out in the other parts of the world.
Actually it’s not a complicated process. Just download the latest version of Kies software from here, and install it on your PC. Connect your device with PC using the USB cable and wait for the software to recognize your device. Once your device is recognized, it will check if there is any update available. Just follow the instructions on your screen if there are any updates available for your device.
Coming back to the news, Samsung has also announced that Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, and the 8.9 and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tabs are the next devices that will be getting ICS updates. Moreover, devices such as Galaxy S, Galaxy R and Galaxy Tab 7 will be getting new Gingerbeard updates that will bring features like Face Unlock and a revamped photo editor.
